Last year Joan Denis was the lucky winner who was drawn to attend the Northwest Wisconsin Children's Book Conference up in Cable, WI (near Hayward).
Will YOU be the winner this year!?!
We will sponsor an NFLS librarian who would like to attend the NWCB Conference on October 2nd and 3rd. NFLS will cover the conference registration, meals and lodging. The conference is geared toward children's services. This year's keynote speaker is Nancy Pearl! Other great sessions include:
So You Want to Be an Author?
Hooking Your Audience from the Get-go!
What Makes a Good Book Good?
More information on the conference will be mailed to you this week!
If you are interested in being eligible, you must:
1) Submit by email to Jamie: a 4-6 sentence book review of your favorite children's book of ALL TIME. This must be done by Friday, May 23rd!
2) Attend the full NWCB Conference.
3) After attending the conference, write a short post/article for Little Nic Bits.
The winner will be chosen Tuesday, May 27th!
Good luck!

I went the year before to this conference and it was great!! A horrendous drive (5 hours for me) but it was a very pretty one--perfect time of year to see the colors!
The sessions were very Wisconsin and Minnesota related, and I'm thinking the author sessions might give us some "creative" ideas for the summer program next year.

I agree, Kymberley. It's a long drive, but well worth it.
